Femi Odugbemi is an award-winning writer, content Producer, Photographer and Filmmaker.
A Fellow of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) he is Chairman of the Board of Thespian Family Theatre and Productions, and a Board Director of several top Culture organizations across Africa including the Documentary Network Africa, People2People Conference in South Africa, the Uganda Film Festival Kampala, Black Stars International Film Festival Ghana, Freedom Park Lagos, Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts Lagos and the Orange Academy Lagos.
Femi has been the 3-time Head Judge of the prestigious Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA, and Co-Founder/Executive Director of the popular iRepresent International Documentary Film Forum in Lagos. He is a former President of the Independent Producers Association of Nigeria (ITPAN 2002-2006)
His creative works in film celebrate the rich diversity of the African experience with award-winning titles that have won the 2010 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), the 2009 Abuja International Film Festival prize for best film (Mama Put) and the 2010 United States National Black Programming Consortium’s AFROPOP Prize for Documentary Bariga Boy.
He has been for 5 years Supervising Executive Producer of the MNET daily soap-opera Tinsel. Other Highlights of his screen credits include critically acclaimed feature Maroko and the new direction films Mama Put and Abobaku which screen also on the MNET Channels.
He has featured as a speaker/contributor in several international culture conferences and served on many international juries including the Emmy Awards New York. In November 2013 he received the Excellence Award of the Society of the Performing Arts of Nigeria (SPAN). He also received in the same month the Distinguished Leadership award of the Nollywood@20 years celebrations. He is CEO/Executive Producer of DVWORX Studios Lagos.
